Ricardo Montalban - R.I.P.

A couple of hours ago I watched an excellent movie, Right Cross (1950) on TCM. The movie starred June Allyson, Dick Powell, Lionel Barrymore, and Ricardo Montalban, who played boxer Johnny Monterez, having an interracial romance with June Allyson's character. The story and all of the performances were excellent.

A few minutes ago I read where Mr. Montalban passed away this morning at the age of 88. Although there are no details about the cause of death, I hope Mr. Montalban was able to watch his movie on TCM and reflect on the fine physical specimen that he was in his youth.

I'm sure there will be many tributes scheduled for Mr. Montalban in the future, but it was nice that today his movie was scheduled on TCM just because it was a good movie.

Mr. Montalban turned in many performances in his long career. Some will undoubtedly remember him as Mr. Roarke on Fantasy Island, some have an affection for his role as Kahn in the 1982 Star Trek movie, and some will forever hear his voice telling them about the "fine Corinthian leather" offered in Chrysler products. However, YOU choose to remember him, I'm sure he would be happy with your choice.
