The 2009 Cotton Bowl was the last to be played at the REAL Cotton Bowl Stadium. Next year's game will be moved to Robber Baron Jerry Jones' taxpayer welfare stadium in Arlington.
The 2009 game between Mississippi State and Texas Tech was a fantastic experience, in every sense of the word, except for the team of Fox Network broadcasters assigned to cover the game. Pat Summerall was reliable, as always, but Brian Baldinger was a moron, as always, and the two ladies on the sidelines, Jeane Zelasko and Krista Voda, were awful. Their banal observations and interviews were painful to watch.
At one point, Summerall made the comment that Texas Tech's first two touchdowns were the result of turnovers by Mississippi State. Not to be outdone, Monkey-See Monkey Do Baldinger opined that Texas Tech's first 14 points were the result of turnovers by Mississippi State.
Baldinger might not be able to think on his feet, but I guess at least he's listening to someone who really knows the game and the job.
Fox needs to send three of the three youngest of these four broadcasters to the locker room, permanently. And while they're at it, maybe they should lose those annoying robot animations during NFL games.
