Obama’s vision for shared sacrifice – a political oxymoron?

Tonight, President Obama urged politicians and the public alike to shoulder responsibility for hard choices and shared sacrifice. As a sign of good faith, I would like to urge the Washington politicians to give up the thousands of dollars in annual pay that they recently approved for themselves.

Once we’ve seen our politicians sacrifice their personal plunder, maybe the rest of us can give up the nickel and dime raises offered to us by employers who consider us working stiffs lucky (and unworthy) to have a job.
