BORDERLINE JUSTICE

From an early age, we learned about the presumption of innocence – innocent until proven guilty - right?

Apparently not.  President Barack (rush to judgment) Obama doesn’t subscribe to it.  His handpicked Attorney General, Eric Holder, discounts it.  Now, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton confirms it.  Arizona has been predetermined to be guilty of racial profiling, before SB1070 even goes into effect.  Obama and Holder, along with Hillary Clinton waged a media campaign against this new legislation for immigration accountability without reading it first.  I assume that Bolton at least read it before rendering her decision to block some parts of SB1070, but she’s a political appointee of U.S. Perjurer (“I did not have sex with that woman.”) Bill Clinton so my presumption of Bolton’s innocence could conceivably be misplaced.

The ACLU argues that SB1070 would have led to racial profiling.  Again, I ask about “innocent until proven guilty.”  Some might argue that asking someone for identification borders on an assumption of guilt until proven innocent.  That would only be true if the Arizona police crossed the Mexican border and started asking people who had not yet entered our country illegally to show identification.

Several years ago, my wife and I took a short vacation in Mexico.  We presented our passports as we legally crossed the border into their country.  We kept our identification with us at all times as we were instructed to do.  We didn’t steal anyone’s identity or ask the citizens of Mexico for special treatment to educate our children in English while we were there.  Had we needed medical attention while visiting Mexico, we were prepared to pay for it without asking for a handout from local taxpayers to provide free medical care.  We respected their laws and their culture while legally visiting their country.  If we had decided to make Mexico our home, we would have gone through proper channels to become legal citizens.

Polls show that most Americans are disgusted with our porous borders and lax immigration enforcement, contributing factors to the deadly attacks of 9/11.

Arizona should have the right to protect her borders, whether North, South, East, or West, from any criminals seeking to sneak into this country illegally.  Sadly, in the last few years Republicans haven’t shown any more inclination to protect U.S. borders from illegal immigrants than the Democrats have.

If this madness is allowed to continue, we’re going to end up electing a president who wasn’t even born in this country, as required by Article 2 of the Constitution.  Wait a minute, maybe we’ve already waited too late to do anything about that one . . .
